Nagoya, Wakayama, Tokushima, Muroto, Kochi, Shimanto and back. That was roughly the route of my journey in Japan. As three times before I rode a bike, slept in the tent, eat fish cans … I did not seek memorable places, or tourist centers. I was not a tourist or explorer. Japan is a civilized, industrialized country and everything has long been discovered. Perhaps not entirely, perhaps not for everyone. Maybe I was looking for something different than others. Maybe …
I spent six weeks on the road and on couple of color films I tried to capture my impressions. Until now I worked only in black and white. This collection was growing spontaneously, from some kind of inner need, and I was very surprised by the result. It is my first collection of color photos at all.
